Today we present you a campaign that according to us has to be one of the greatest ever created: The Act Now Camp

aign, founded by the UN.

Have you ever asked yourself: How can I help the earth and have a positive impact on our climate in my everyday life? How much does it take to support our planet? Ask no longer, the Act Now Campaign has all your answers! It shows that doing something to stop climate change does in fact not take much at all and that we can all start living a sustainable lifestyle and fun and easy way.

The Campaign has a so-called action guide where they summed up the most important ten actions that you can start doing right now to have a good impact. Do not expect long and complicated guidelines, it is really consisting of just ten simple climate actions!

1. Taking a 5-minute shower: saves more than 45 litres of water each time

2. using a reusable coffee mug: saves CO2 emissions and water as well

3. eating a plant-based meal: reduces greenhouse gas emissions

4. bringing your own bag: as Act Now calls it, BYOB: reduces emissions and plastic waste

5. turning off your lights when you leave a room: saves approximately 0,24 kWh of electricity and 100 grams of CO2 emissions

6. recycling plastic waste: saves approximately 300 grams of CO2 emissions

7. driving less: walking or cycling instead: 4 km can save 1 kg of CO2 emissions

8. trying zero-waste fashion: reduces CO2 emissions

9. unplugging your appliances such as computers or TVs: saves CO2 emissions

10. buying local: supports local economies, reduces carbon

But the Campaign does not stop with this guide, not at all. It has even created its own app! Yes, you heard right! You can easily download it, for free, start collecting points by making sustainable choices, organizing your own habit tracker, getting interesting information, joining plans and projects. We, siblingsofthenature, have been using the app and we are simply thrilled.

The Campaign provides lots of scientific and reliable information on the topic of climate change as well. In order to solve a problem, the causes must be understood properly so that they can be dissolved, which is why we believe it is important to gain knowledge through the many resources of Act Now. For example, the campaign tells us that the resource extractions has more than tripled since the year 1970, while the fossil fuel use increased by an amount of 45 percent.

When is the right age to get involved in providing climate change? There is no right age! With the Act Now’s league of superheroes that consists of 17 guides children can learn about climate change and how to provide it, in a fun and simple way that is easy to understand and remember.

You can even calculate your own carbon footprint by answering some questions about your lifestyle, to see where you stand right now and in which areas you can still improve.

As you can see, the campaign has an endless number of sources. Most importantly, it simply shows us how to help our planet, every day, with easy actions. And if the facts and figures section of the campaign shows us one thing it is that our planet needs help. Now.
